Wedding Reception Entertainment Ideas Guests Actually Join In On
The best wedding reception entertainment gives guests something to do between the ceremony and the dance floor, especially the ones who won't dance. Walk-up games that take a few minutes, need no skill and work for every age do this better than anything else.

When interactive putting fits into your reception
Because it sets up before guests arrive and runs itself, it can cover the whole reception rather than one slot in the schedule.
- Cocktail hourThe biggest lull of the night, while the couple is taking photos. Guests get a game to play instead of standing around.
- DinnerGuests who finish early wander over for a round, and kids have something to do other than run laps.
- DancingIt becomes the spot for non-dancers and the people who need a break from the floor.
- Late nightThe leaderboard gets competitive. Crown a champion before the send-off, or run a bride's side vs. groom's side contest.
Where to put it at your venue
- Near the action. Close to the bar or cocktail area and visible from the tables, so people see it and want to play.
- Out of the way of the dance floor and main walkways, so the line never blocks traffic.
- On a smooth, close-to-level surface. Most standard flooring works, including ballroom floors, wood, concrete and tile.
- Within reach of a standard outlet.
- Outdoors, under cover. For barn, garden and backyard weddings, place it under a tent, pavilion or covered patio, on a smooth, close-to-level surface. It must stay protected from rain. Ask us about options for your venue.
- Out of direct sun if you can, so the screen is easy to read.
What it costs for a typical reception
Every rental includes 3 hours of play plus delivery, setup and pickup anywhere in our standard service area (the Omaha metro, Council Bluffs, Fremont, Wahoo and Ashland). Your names and wedding date on the screens are included at no extra cost.
| Reception length | Single station | Dual station |
|---|---|---|
| 3 hours | $475 | $775 |
| 4 hours | $575 | $975 |
| 5 hours (full reception) | $675 | $1,175 |
An optional on-site attendant is $50 an hour. A $150 Non-Refundable Reservation Payment reserves your date and goes toward the total.
Single or dual station?
A single station is right for most weddings. Games are quick and anyone can play, so the line keeps moving. Choose the dual station for a big guest list when you want more people playing at once, or when you want two sides competing head-to-head all night.
Other reception entertainment worth considering
Lawn and giant games
Cornhole, giant Jenga and ring toss are cheap and easy at outdoor receptions. They lose steam after dark and don't keep score, so the competition fizzles.
A photo booth
A great keepsake, but it's a one-time stop for most guests and tends to draw long lines at peak moments.
Live acoustic music at cocktail hour
Sets a warm mood, but it's something guests listen to rather than do, so it pairs well with an activity.
Many couples combine these: music for the atmosphere, a photo booth for keepsakes, and a walk-up game for the guests who want something to do.
Why couples choose interactive putting
It solves the two hardest reception problems at once: a slow cocktail hour and guests who don't dance. It's personalized with your names, sets up in under 15 minutes, and runs itself, so neither of you has to manage anything.
