Putting Game or Golf Simulator? Choosing the Right Rental
If you want golf at your event, the two main rental options are a full-swing golf simulator and an interactive putting game. They're built for different crowds and different rooms. Here's an honest comparison to help you pick.
The short answer
Choose an interactive putting game for mixed crowds, tighter indoor spaces and events where you want lots of people to play. Choose a golf simulator when most of your guests are golfers who want to hit full shots, and you have the room and ceiling height for it.
Side-by-side comparison
| Interactive putting | Golf simulator | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it suits | Everyone, including non-golfers and kids | Mostly golfers |
| Space | About 6 × 15 ft per station | A larger enclosed bay |
| Ceiling height | Standard ceilings are fine | High ceilings needed for full swings |
| Time per player | A few minutes per game | Longer; each golfer takes full shots |
| Players at once | Anyone can jump in; live leaderboard | Usually one hitter at a time |
| Safety | Putting only, no full swings | Full swings need a netted, controlled space |
| Setup | Under 15 minutes | Typically longer |
| Branding | Your names or logo on screen, included | Varies by provider |
When interactive putting is the better choice
- Mixed crowds. Weddings, holiday parties and graduation open houses are full of people who've never swung a club. Anyone can putt.
- Tighter rooms. A 6 × 15 ft footprint fits ballrooms, offices, breweries and basements where a simulator won't.
- More people playing. Quick games and a shared leaderboard keep the line moving and the room involved.
- Drinks in hand. A putter is a lot safer than a driver at a party.
- Trade show booths. It fits a 10 × 20 booth and draws a crowd from the aisle.
When a golf simulator is the better choice
- Golf-focused groups such as golf outings, club events or sponsor nights where guests want to hit drivers and irons.
- Long-drive or closest-to-the-pin contests built around full shots.
- Large spaces with high ceilings where a full-swing bay fits comfortably.
Some events use both: a simulator for the golfers and a putting game for everyone else.
What interactive putting costs
Event Putt includes 3 hours of play plus delivery, setup and pickup anywhere in our standard service area (the Omaha metro, Council Bluffs, Fremont, Wahoo and Ashland).
| Event length | Single station | Dual station |
|---|---|---|
| 3 hours | $475 | $775 |
| 4 hours | $575 | $975 |
| 5 hours | $675 | $1,175 |
Each additional hour is $100 per station. Simulator rentals are usually priced by the hour, often with multi-hour minimums, so compare the total for your event length.
Golf for everyone at your event
